entrenous | hair and beauty photography london ontario

Thought I would share the latest collection of hair and beauty images that I produced for a few of my stylist friends at Entrenous Hair and Beauty, on Richmond Street in London. I have been working with stylists and makeup artists from this salon for more years that I care to count, and now that I have the space in the new studio, I hope to do a lot more of this kind of work. Big shout out to Lisa Sallabank and her team for putting this day together!

most of you know me as the consummate baby and child photographer. however, before i had children of my own, the fashion world was a place that I was very comfortable. i credit those years with laying out the groundwork for good, solid studio skills, not to mention the real-life teaching of inter-personal relationships. now that my children are growing up and don’t need me so much, i definitely plan to return to commercial shooting. but you baby people? don’t fret. i love photographing babies, and never plan to stop doing that.

so, stay on your toes! by september, myself and the gang at soho studios plan to launch a fitness and beauty website! a lot of work in the making, but i am very excited about it!

mother’s day mini session | london ontario photographers

I am delighted to announce our first annual “Adored” mini-session, in which we will celebrate mothers by photographing them with the ones that they  adore.  These sessions are for all mothers:  expecting mothers, new mothers,  mothers with their mothers, grandmothers …. Conveniently  arranged for you on a Saturday right around (you guessed it) Mother’s Day! A great gift for your wife, sister, daughter, mother or friend to let them know that you appreciate what an amazing person she is, or a gift to yourself that you can someday pass along to your children.

Sessions will take place at SOHO Studios, 461 South Street in London, the new home of Paula Tizzard Photography. Your session will be 20-30 minutes, and within 2 weeks, you will be provided with a password to view 15-20 edited poses in a private, online gallery. You are always welcome to make an appointment to view your images in our presentation room , where you can view your photos on a big screen to help with your decisions.

Due to the nature of this session, it is important to note that this is NOT the time to have your newborn or toddler photographed …. I cannot produce the type of newborn and baby images  that you see on my website in a mini-session. You are welcome to bring your baby, but the focus will be on the relationship and the session cannot  be rescheduled at the promotional price. Please be realistic with your expectations regarding very young children.

I am limiting this promotion to (10) sessions only, and anticipate that they will book quickly.  A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required to secure your booking.

You will have the choice between two studio set-ups, one being a dark background for those gorgeous black and white portraits, and the other a light backdrop for a more contemporary feel. Due to the time constraints, you must specify your preference at the time of booking.

a great year | london ontario baby and child photography

I wanted to do a little post for my wee friend Xavier, and his mom and dad, to let them know how happy I am that they have chosen me to photograph their family!  It has been great getting to know them over the past year, and I especially had fun with Xavier when they came by last week for his complimentary cake smash session. His mom paid careful attention to planning the props and cake so that it matched the theme of his 1st birthday party the following weekend, and the images were so sweet. Here is a tiny window into the past year …. happy birthday, Xavier!

sheer determination | fitness photography london ontario

Determination. Will-power. Tenacity. Conviction. Call it what you will, if it involves physical activity, I don’t have it. Not that I haven’t tried …. Years ago, “when I had more time”, I went to the gym. I went to boot camp. I cycled, rollerbladed, and ran. Sadly, those things are all a part of my past.

Meet my client, Meaghan, who I have been photographing for several years now. She first hired me when she was still a teenager to do a mother-daughter portrait as a gift for her mom. Next came her wedding, which was followed by a couple of belly and baby sessions.  After the birth of her first child, she felt a little disconnected to her body, and decided  to take control of that situation. Meaghan was determined to get her body back. 6 months later,  in 2009, she competed in her first fitness show, and has done 8 shows since, including the Canadians. She has also recently had her second child, and 6 short months later, was photographed for her first editorial feature in Oxygen magazine. Not bad for a mom from London, Ontario!

When I asked her about her journey, this is what she had to say.  “ I want to be an inspiration for women with children and families … I want to let them know that it IS possible to take care of themselves and their families, and that they CAN find that balance in their lives. I love competing, as it helps me stay motivated. I love being in the fitness world, and believe that I can make a name for myself in it. I believe that you CAN make your dreams come true …. You just have to  do it!

Meaghan, you are an inspiration to me, that’s for sure. I am proud of the person that you have become, and look forward to seeing what the future holds for you!
